Biography

Dr. Kevern is a nationally recognized expert on pervious concrete. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Iowa State University, and both his thesis and dissertation examined the durability and application of pervious concrete. He sits on pervious and/or emerging concrete committees at ACI, ASTM, ASCE and TRB.

Named one of the top five most influential people in the concrete industry by Concrete Construction magazine, Dr. Kevern has received the ACI Walter P. Moore Jr. Faculty Achievement Award and the ACI Young Member Award for Professional Achievement.

His is currently researching methods for improving water quality using pervious concrete, and also processes for incorporating industrial by-products into cement and concrete. He has authored more than 80 journal articles, papers, and reports and has presented at more than 120 U.S. and international conferences.
